Ranocchia: Cagliari draw a letdown

The Italian believes that Inter were deserving of all three points and is frustrated that they were unable to hold on to a third away win this season

The Nerazzurri have become unexpected title challengers under new boss Walter Mazzarri this season but failed to win for the second time in their opening six games thanks to Radja Nainggolan's late equaliser.

Although he believes Inter impressed and deserved the win away from home, Ranocchia was frustrated that they were unable to return to the Giuseppe Meazza with another win in the bag.

"We played a good match and we’ll start again from here," the 25-year-old told Inter Channel.

"We created a lot and gave away very little on a pitch that wasn’t in the greatest shape. Unfortunately we’re not taking the three points home.

"Even the guys who play less are still training hard to be ready to go. They have to keep up this attitude, and they did well today.

"It’s a letdown because we deserved the three points. But we’ll move forward. It’s a long season. We’ll start focusing on Roma now."

Inter's next match is against fellow Scudetto challengers Roma on Saturday October 5 at San Siro.
